Why are many services at Madrona Clinics out-of-network and how might that benefit me?
At Madrona, we’ve learned that healing happens best when nothing stands between you and the people caring for you. Staying out-of-network keeps the focus on that connection, giving us the freedom to meet you where you are and provide cutting-edge, personalized care.
Our relationship unfolds on your terms:
Insurance plans often dictate the length, frequency, and even the kind of sessions you can have. By working directly together, we can sit for a full hour (or longer, if a deeper conversation is needed), adjust the cadence week-to-week, and decide together when you’ve reached your goals, rather than when a preset number of visits runs out.
Room for the full spectrum of care:
Many of the approaches we find most helpful, accelerated Deep TMS, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, neurofeedback, and community practices like yoga and breathwork are still outside typical insurance coverage. Staying out of network lets us offer the best tool for the moment instead of the one that happens to fit a billing code.
More privacy:
When therapy is billed through insurance, a formal diagnosis and detailed treatment notes become part of a larger medical record. Working privately keeps those details between you and your clinician, protecting both your confidentiality and your ability to tell your own story, in absolute privacy.
Time and attention where they belong:
Because we’re not filling out endless pre-authorization forms or completing doc-to-doc phone calls, we can respond quickly to messages, coordinate seamlessly with other members of your care team, and spend our energy thinking creatively about your progress and care plan.
About your investment and reimbursement:
We know finances matter. After each visit we can provide a “superbill,” which many clients submit for partial reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits or utilize their HSA/FSA accounts. Every plan is different, so a quick call to your insurer will clarify what portion they’ll cover.
If our approach resonates, we’d love to meet you.
Do you accept Insurance?
Starting in August, Members will be able to use their BCBS/Premera and BCBS/Regence. For services not covered by insurance we can provide a “superbill” that gives line times and billing codes for you to provide you insurance for any eligible reimbursement. We can also accept HSA/FSA cards, Cash, credit/debit cards, and Zelle. Starting in August 2026, we’ll have financing available for our out-of-network services.
How often do you hold workshops?
Our goal is to hold at least monthly workshops and group events.
Is the yoga “hot”?
No, the temperature of the yoga sessions is generally 72-78 depending on the weather.
Is there parking on site?
Yes, we have a covered parking garage!
What age groups do you care for?
We can see adolescents age 15 or older for treatment of major depressive disorder with TMS. However, this indication is more recently FDA approved and only occasionally covered by insurance at this time.
Do you prescribe at-home ketamine?
We generally will not prescribe ketamine to be take at home. In some rare instances, we will bridge in-clinic ketamine treatment with at-home sublingual ketamine.
Do you provide home visits?
We can sometimes provide home visits pending availability of our psychiatrist. In such cases, our hourly rate is charged during transit time in addition to a “home-visit” fee.
